H&M’s collaboration with Versace
Know that feeling when you’re dying to share something, but absolutely can’t and mustn’t tell? Well, such is the case with H&M’s collaboration with Versace, of which whispers spread to Vogue a week or so ago. So now it’s out in the open, and the countdown to the collection hitting the stores later in the year begins, not to mention the attendant wave of hysterical anticipation, feverish buying when it finally arrives, and the realization that yes, fashion really is a global language these days, as the clothes are going to be available pretty much everywhere in the world. No teasers to the big reveal this time around, like H&M did for its partnership with Lanvin, slyly dropping hints as to the identity of the house it was working with. And quite right, too: The briefest glimpse of a Medusa head, or the merest strand of Donatella’s glorious shank of platinum blonde hair, and the game would have been up in an instant.
